The war in Iraq and the political turmoil in the Middle East have resulted to the birth of various medical conditions among the devastated population of the war-infested country. Among the most prominent yet mysterious diseases that struck the Iraqi population is the Blastocystis infection. Its peculiarity stems from the fact that it can cause some of the African Mysterious Symptoms.

What is a Blastocystis?

The Blastocystis or the Blastocystis hominis is a microscopic parasite that can infect humans. It is an organism which is akin to a protozoan which is single-celled. This organism is often found in our stools. It is often apparent in stools of people who have abdominal pain, diarrhea and other problems in the gastrointestinal tract. However, it is also sometimes present in the stools of very healthy people. These organisms can infect the lower gastrointestinal organs of humans.
Apparently, it is still unclear if the presence of the organism actually causes an infection or not. However, it is apparent that various African Mysterious Symptoms are potentially caused by Blastocystis hominis which is more common among people who have poor personal hygiene and inadequate sanitation practices.
The symptoms of an infection
Based on the recent health studies, many people who have Blastocystis hominis in their gastrointestinal tract or in their stools, do not exhibit any signs or symptoms of an infection. However, some people who have this organism in their internal organs have diarrhea. They can also have a combination or a multitude of other symptoms such as skin rashes, fatigue, abdominal pain, headaches, depression, and even joint pain.

The mystery behind the Blastocystis hominis infection

What puzzles most physicians and medical experts is the fact that the presence of the parasite is not a clear indicator of the symptoms. If the Blastocystis hominis is in your bloodstream, your health service provider will not be able to determine if its existence is the actual cause of the infection that you have.
Unfortunately, experts still do not have a conclusive record which determines if the Blastocystis hominis organism actually causes an infection. Based on other medical claims, the presence of these organisms sometimes merely serves as another indicator of the presence of other microscopic agents that can cause gastrointestinal infections. However, what’s clear is that if a person exhibits African Mysterious Symptoms, then Blastocystis hominis is probably in his bloodstream. GP

Looking back in November 11, 2004, the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat died of stroke that was caused by a bleeding disorder which resulted from African unknown illness that resulted to a fatal infection.

Apparently, the leader suffered from an infection of an unknown cause for over a month before he had a stroke. Prior to his death, there were many rumors about his previous health condition. Unfortunately, the medical records that he left in the French military hospital where he died didn’t provide any substantial explanations. Even his doctors cannot agree on the actual cause of his death.

Conflicting media reports

Prior to the death of 75 year old Arafat, most of the local media personnel grasped rumors that the course of the illness and the symptoms that he experienced implied that he had symptoms of AIDS.

Unfortunately, because of the inconclusive medical reports, there have been many conflicting media reports regarding the African unknown illness that caused Arafat’s infection. However, some reports showed that AIDS was the cause of the fatality.

In contrast to the reports from the New York Times, The Haaretz reported that the symptoms of African unknown illness that affected Arafat were signs of food poisoning. In fact, a senior Israeli physician even cited that the death of the Palestinian leader was a “classic case of food poisoning”.

Various speculations about the untimely death

According to Mr. Avi Isacharov, there are two possible causes of the Palestinian leader’s death. Based on the medical records, the infection that Arafat had was from a germ that eventually poisoned his blood.

Most of Arafat’s followers stated that their leader’s fatal condition came from food poisoning. They claimed that Arafat was poisoned when he was having his dinner at the Ramallah headquarters on October 12, 2004, a month before he died. As a result, many Palestinians believed that Arafat’s death was actually a conspiracy masterminded by the Israeli government.

However, the locals provided a different claim as they associated the African unknown illness with a sexually transmitted disease. GP
